Specifications

Overview:

Tonga Time was commissioned from the factory and built to the current owners custom design preferences. She features the Premium Finish Package and is upgraded with bespoke matte Olive Wood cabinetry throughout. Most notably, Tonga Time was built without the lower aft exterior dining table. Instead, she features huge lazarettes in the aft cockpit that are suitable for water toys, fishing gear, spare jerry cans, etc. This shorter stern allows for a more conventional electric dinghy davit system which is much easier to operate than the standard crane. This redesign is also significantly lighter weight and results in the dinghy no longer jutting out past the stern of the boat.

Tonga Time also incorporates a custom hard top above the flybridge. Designed by Atlantic Towers, it provides a location for the large solar array and better weather protection than the factory hard top.

Both the stern and hard top modifications result in a dramatically lighter boat than the standard factory specs. The total weight savings allows Tonga Time to sit approximately 5in higher on her waterline. In combination with her upgraded Yanmar 370hp engines, she cruises considerably faster and more efficiently than a standard Aquila 44.

Accommodations:

Tonga Time has a 2-cabin layout featuring a full-beam master cabin and workshop / office / work out room. The master includes ample storage and hanging lockers, a full size desk and hanging lockers, and a built in TV mounting area. The master head is spacious and bright with a large walk-in shower. A king bed with upgraded mattress ensures that youll always have a restful nights sleep. The guest berth to port features a queen bed with en suite head that includes a dedicated vanity, porcelain sink, electric toilet, and large separate shower stall. The starboard workshop is designed for ample tools storage or can be used as a dedicated office space with a fold down desk. The attached laundry room features full sized washer and vented dryer, a sink, and easy access to the Spectra watermaker which was repositioned from its standard location in the engine compartment for ease of maintenance. In the common areas, the open concept design offers a fantastic flow between exterior cockpit into the galley and salon. The space features a large folding glass door and a swing up window opening up to a fold down bar and fixed bar stools making a wonderful entertaining area. This open concept design combines with numerous overhead, side, and forward opening hatches to offer fantastic ventilation throughout the boat.

We take pride in our happy customers

Excellent communication.

— Nicolas Bergstein

We had a great purchasing experience with The Multihull Company. Got us into the boat we really wanted, our broker Josie was amazing, she walked us through the entire process, negotiated the deal we wanted and gave us great advice throughout. If you are looking to purchase a boat we can’t recommend them enough.

— Roger Matros

It’s been a few weeks now and the dust has settled. We had a great experience with the Multihull Company and in particular our broker, Caroline Laviolette. Caroline was happy to share her knowledge of the market and the catamarans we were interested in purchasing. She was patient and thorough as we looked at several boats in SE Florida, helped us narrow our search and eventually purchase a beautiful 2017 Lagoon 42. Many thanks to the team at The Multihull Company!

— Carl Anderson

We had a great experience purchasing our boat with Will Miller as a buyers agent. Purchasing our first large Cat is a daunting experience and Will was able to walk us through the process with ease. Will was very straight forward and constantly gave us honest feedback as well as finding and pointing out details on all the boats that we may not have noticed or thought about.

We had a great experience and would use them again.

I would specifically recommend a buyers agent when purchasing to help weed through a lot of problems and misrepresented boats on the market.

— Anthony Nappa

We have had great experiences with the Multihull company. We both sold our old boat through them, and bought our new boat through them. I have to say that Will Miller is top-notch, and Riley was great as our broker for selling our O day 39. when you buy a Salt or Boat through them, I feel like you are not only clients, but you are friends. The lines of communication were always open and we were always informed of everything going on.
