About

Gunboat 55 “VANDAL” – Ultimate Owner-Operated Performance Cruiser

VANDAL is a high-tech, lightweight Gunboat 55 catamaran built in the USA and designed for fast, shorthanded world cruising with outstanding performance, safety, and luxury. Constructed entirely in carbon fiber, this 57-ft LOA yacht combines strength and speed with a sleek, modern profile. Capable of sailing comfortably at 14 to 21 knots and achieving 250+ mile days, VANDAL is the perfect platform for couples or small crews seeking serious offshore capability.

With a smart galley-up layout and an open, bulkhead-free main salon, the living space flows seamlessly into the cockpit, offering a bright, social atmosphere ideal for entertaining or relaxing at anchor. Below, you'll find three queen+ staterooms with bold, stylish finishes and two well-appointed heads. VANDAL has been significantly upgraded post-construction, including reinforced rigging, improved steering systems, and a solar power array — all completed at Newport Shipyard in collaboration with Gunboat, incorporating two decades of real-world performance insight.

This Gunboat is fully equipped for long-term cruising with lithium batteries, solar panels, air conditioning, a generator, watermaker, electric winches, and a full suite of B&G electronics including AIS and radar. She features performance keels for safe, fast upwind sailing without the complexity of centerboards. Recent maintenance includes new bottom paint and PropSpeed in Nov 2024, and an out-of-water bottom survey with thermographic imaging, showing no issues.

Whether you're coastal cruising, crossing oceans, or hosting sunset gatherings, VANDAL delivers everything you expect from a Gunboat — speed, style, innovation, and confidence.

This vessel was recently contributed to AMIkids, and will be available soon for 3 year lease with purchase option, at zero percent interest, to qualified individuals

We take pride in our happy customers

Excellent communication.

— Nicolas Bergstein

We had a great purchasing experience with The Multihull Company. Got us into the boat we really wanted, our broker Josie was amazing, she walked us through the entire process, negotiated the deal we wanted and gave us great advice throughout. If you are looking to purchase a boat we can’t recommend them enough.

— Roger Matros

It’s been a few weeks now and the dust has settled. We had a great experience with the Multihull Company and in particular our broker, Caroline Laviolette. Caroline was happy to share her knowledge of the market and the catamarans we were interested in purchasing. She was patient and thorough as we looked at several boats in SE Florida, helped us narrow our search and eventually purchase a beautiful 2017 Lagoon 42. Many thanks to the team at The Multihull Company!

— Carl Anderson

We had a great experience purchasing our boat with Will Miller as a buyers agent. Purchasing our first large Cat is a daunting experience and Will was able to walk us through the process with ease. Will was very straight forward and constantly gave us honest feedback as well as finding and pointing out details on all the boats that we may not have noticed or thought about.

We had a great experience and would use them again.

I would specifically recommend a buyers agent when purchasing to help weed through a lot of problems and misrepresented boats on the market.

— Anthony Nappa

We have had great experiences with the Multihull company. We both sold our old boat through them, and bought our new boat through them. I have to say that Will Miller is top-notch, and Riley was great as our broker for selling our O day 39. when you buy a Salt or Boat through them, I feel like you are not only clients, but you are friends. The lines of communication were always open and we were always informed of everything going on.
