The Multihull Company is excited to announce the addition of Cynthia Wummer to its team of brokers in Fort Lauderdale.
Cynthia delivers lasting value for her clients as a genuine sailboat specialist. Her vast racing and cruising resumé bears a depth of knowledge that creates a winning connection. Cynthia says, “Some people come to the buying process with next-to-no experience, while others are extremely qualified cruisers looking for their next-level boat. Having a broad spectrum of experience helps me draw out and achieve all the finer points of what my clients are looking for.”
Cynthia’s take on how she helps her clients, “I love passing on insider knowledge. From engines and electrical, to sails, outfitting and storage, to the best anchorages and newest technology. All those extra insights factor into finding the right boat.” She is a broker with amenities…buying the right catamaran extends well past the transaction, Cynthia’s skills and work ethic are geared to guide and manage every step. She goes above and beyond as a go-to for advice on boat building/design, upgrades and maintenance, outfitting, gear, inspections, boat previews, and more.
Beyond practical advice, Cynthia is a 100-Ton Captain, highly networked in the sailing community. With her connections, she helps her clients with total solutions before, during and after the sale. She has built her successful brokerage business on experience that is grounded in the way she treats people. Cynthia says, “I consider my clients to be a special part of my boating community. I’ve done my job if they pass it on that I am honest, fair, knowledgeable; and that I care.”
Her qualifications and passion are well-suited to The Multihull Company’s team of Sailors providing complete catamaran cruising services worldwide.
Cynthia is a recent empty-nester living in Ft Lauderdale. Her two children, Courtney and Brandon live up north, yet join her in her catamaran charters in the Caribbean each year.
My wife and I want to take a moment to recognize Cynthia Wummer for her amazing work during the purchase of our first boat, a 2018 Lagoon 40 (SV Southern Wild). We were so incredibly pleased with Cynthia and the way she handled this difficult and complex process with ease! She gave us the “white glove” treatment every step of the way. She was extremely proactive in setting up multiple virtual meetings, she expertly and personally handled our survey abroad, and she even guided the sellers throughout. She was a bulldog when we needed her to be during the negotiations (we honestly felt sorry for the sellers!) but she was also eloquent and used a gentle touch when we hit her with many questions. We can’t say enough about this outstanding experience with Cynthia. She reflects outstanding credit upon The Multihull Company and you guys are lucky to have her on your team! Thank you all so much for making our first boat purchase not only a success, but a treasured memory.

“My husband and I recently purchased a
Lagoon 421, with Cynthia Wummer as Broker and we have a very long list of
accolades for her. Instead, I’ll give you a Top Ten!
1. She intuits what really matters to the client. We felt
100% comfortable that Cynthia could evaluate all potentials — knowing
that she “gets us.” Which is the main ingredient in client trust.
2. She hones the decision process. Early on, she sensed we were struggling
with size. She economized our travel time with a day of boat visits to
“try on” a range of 39 to 48 footers, so we could isolate boat size as a
defining criteria going forward.
3. She has buckets of initiative. She was ever quick to scout the back
story on a boat, travel to make an inspection, send video, arrange virtual
tours … and kept us current at all times.
4. She has even more buckets of knowledge. We relied on her first-hand
experience to guide our live-aboard decisions (power and electrical,
engine, boat handling, watermaker, gear, etc.) Plus, she shares her
seemingly endless contacts of marine experts and contractors.
5. She’s responsive … answering emails, texts, phone calls —
pronto. Grass does not grow under those tanned feet.
6. She advances the ball. She took an inquiry to verbal agreement to paper
with just the right pressure on the pedal. And, even tho that sale didn’t
go thru … (read on).
7. She is a contingency planner. Behind the scenes, Cynthia stayed in
contact for months with a sell-by-owner that initially refused to budge;
but ultimately became ready to deal.
8. She keeps all parties at the table. She instinctively kept the “we’re not
budging” seller comfortable and communicating.
9. Cynthia can reverse-engineer to keep a deal alive. Our sellers had a
sticking point about the VAT and sale price– and Cynthia kept
negotiating until they were satisfied — ultimately to our benefit.
10. She is compassionate and giving… such as hosting us in her home, letting us store
shipments in her garage, and checking on us during the corona virus crazy. Not as
a sales person, but as someone who cares about clients as people. Cynthia is
an awesome human who has your back.
When we’re ready for our next boat (like all sailors, eventually), we know she’ll have
our back again!”

Hello Cynthia,
We cant thank you enough for all the hard work and efforts you have done to help our
dream boat purchase go thru so smoothly. You went above and beyond helping find a
Captain, boat slip and many other things you have done! We will always
refer you to others looking to purchase or sell a boat.

Cynthia is a great yacht broker. I could list all the things she has done that make here
amazing; however, it is not what she does that makes here amazing, it is why she does
them. She has a huge heart, patience and an unrelenting drive to help people make
their dreams come true.
In the search for our boat, thru the purchase Cynthia was always available to answer
any questions and negotiated diligently on our behalf. Combine that with her highly
skilled understanding of boats as a broker, crew and a captain and you have a broker
that anyone would be lucky to have on their team. Where some brokers would stop
there, Cynthia continued helping us by finding dockage and ensuring our transition to
boat ownership was smooth and painless.

I’ve done many complicated, stressful deals in my career and I highly value a good
team. I really want you to know the importance of Cynthia’s involvement in making
the sale happen. From the first time Cynthia came on my boat, I was impressed how
quickly and aggressively she took on the assignment. She was just “all over it” on
day one! She held everyone to task and made things happen. I cannot think of a time
she didn’t follow-up immediately and completely. As I live in California it was going
to be difficult for me to go back-and-forth during the transaction. Cynthia stepped up
and helped find a new dock in Fort Lauderdale, she helped find the appropriate
resources and helped in managing the repair work prior to the sale. Cynthia gave me
good counsel as to how to approach the “deal” during the whole process. All along
the way she was just invaluable!!!! Most brokers that I have dealt with were slow and
painfully inept in this regard. She is an excellent communicator and pays attention to
the details. While she represented both the seller and buyer we never once felt she
wasn’t fair. We just didn’t have to worry about it. On top of everything else, Cynthia
was fun to deal with!! Thanks so much!

Dear Cynthia,
I want to take a moment to thank you for all
your assistance and efforts on the sale of my sailing vessel Orinoco. Your dedication
to me as your client, skillful advertising and promotion for maximum exposure,
together with your knowledge and experience in yachts, were a great combination to
generate a successful sale. You also assisted me on finding a slip in Fort Lauderdale
and, delivering the vessel to the new slip from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale on
your personal time. It really was a pleasure to have your professional attention on all
aspects of preparing the boat and making it more attractive to potential buyers. I
highly recommend you, not only as a helpful salesperson, but for all your knowledge,
expertise and willingness to be there when I needed you. I can assure you that my next
purchase of a boat, I will contact you for your awesome services. Thank you, Johnny

First of all, I’d like to say thanks to you both for taking the time to speak to me and
for your help in facilitating the purchase. I was a little skeptical especially on the
deposit but after speaking with you all it put me at ease that if for some reason this
Lagoon wasn’t the right one that I’d get my deposit back. I have heard some horror
stories. I actually started my search with a competitor but after thoroughly reading this
companies reviews I decided to part ways early in the process.
I’d like to let you know that Cynthia did an excellent job with me throughout the
process. I’m not the easiest person to deal with, especially when I’m out of my
element. My guard was up and she had to deal with that and with a seller at the same
time. I can’t speak for the seller but she did not push too hard but applied enough to
get me moving in the right direction and there is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes
it takes a little push, a little reassuring, and a little reasoning. She overcame my
objections with a few items and was all over the punch list in making sure it was done
in a timely manner and I truly felt she was looking out for my interests. She is one of
the main reasons, along with this particular boat, why I went ahead with the purchase.
She did an excellent job and I wanted to make sure you all knew that. You have a
great employee and person in Cynthia and I wish her all the success in the industry!
Thank you again!

Lagoon 40
We met Cynthia in our first week of getting serious about our search for a catamaran
after she answered our inquiry on YachtWorld. We were met with wisdom from
Cynthia. It really felt like we had a great broker on our side, plus the support of a team
deeply entrenched in all things sailing and catamarans.
Cynthia pulled some listings, made some calls, showed us some boats including two
models that we were debating between, side by side, which was infinitely helpful. By
the second day, she got us on the boat that we now call our home, a 2018 Lagoon
450F I realize that this is extremely fast and we are lucky, but it would not have been
possible if Cynthia hadn’t pressed to get us on this boat for a showing.
Cynthia knew that this was our first boat purchase and really guided us. When we put
in our offer, we knew that this was the right boat and had a reasonable expectation of
next steps and required work. She is very connected and linked us with the right
specialists as we pursued some work to really make this cat ideal for our liveaboard
cruising dreams.
Cynthia will work hard to help you figure out the right catamaran for you and to make
it yours. Working with her was a great experience and we highly recommend using
Cynthia as your buying or selling broker.

Cynthia,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter on your behalf. Cynthia, you did an
exceptional job at representing us for the purchase of our 65 Marquis Motoryacht.
Even though we started off looking at catamarans in Florida and we had a deal go
south, you never wavered in your commitment to find us the right vessel which ended
up being in Michigan. In addition, you were very receptive to utilizing our local
resources in Michigan to expedite the assessment of the vessel.
It was only through your negotiations and prompt use of out-of-state resources that
enabled us to be chosen as the buyer of choice.
Your communication and attention to detail throughout this process was excellent. I
always felt as though you had us as a priority. Thank you again for everything.
We love our new motoryacht and would not hesitate to utilize you as our broker in the
future. You truly are an amazing broker and person. Mandy and I consider you a
friend and we look forward to seeing you again this winter at some point.

It is not easy to sell OR buy the boat of your dreams. But having a knowledgeable,
well-connected, experienced, and active broker can make all the difference in this
process. Cynthia Wummer proved this during 2 months of working with her on the
sale of our Lagoon 380.
She is experienced. Her many decades-long love of sailing and racing as well as her
connections with the cruising community in FL and abroad is why we chose her to be
our broker. From day one, Cynthia was actively involved with every aspect of
familiarizing herself with our vessel and what it had to offer.
Her understanding of what novice to seasoned sailors’ needs are to help them find the
correct vessel, or what their vessel has to offer a new owner, was instrumental in this
process. She is one of the most proactive salespersons we’ve met, being immediately
on-top of every aspect we needed to do to ready our boat for the sale and through
closing.
We highly recommend Cynthia as a broker to use in either the sale or purchase of
vessel of your dreams.

We want to applaud the exemplary service provided by The Multihull Company, especially our buyer’s broker, Cynthia Wummer.
We researched the benefits of using a buyer’s broker and chose Cynthia because of all the glowing reviews from her clients. She has been working hard for almost 2 years to help us locate the perfect boat and we finally found it through The Multihull Company. We had contracts on 2 sailboats last year that didn’t work out and Cynthia has been working tirelessly since May to help us close the end of July on our 2009 48 ft. Fountaine Pajot Salina. She contacted surveyors, mechanics and electricians in the area to point out problem areas and managed to get our cost reduced by a significant amount even though it reduced her commission. Cynthia cares about her clients and she did everything in her power to get the best deal for us.
Although we had some misunderstandings on our part about the documentation on the boat, Andrew and his closing team were very patient with us and the closing was a painless process. We highly recommend them in buying your dreamboat.

We really lucked out in connecting with The Multihull Company. We made a cold call to Cynthia Wummer, a Multihull Company broker and told her we wanted to buy a catamaran to cruise The Great Loop and experience the Bahamas. We particularly wanted a PDQ power catamaran. From our first contact she was so helpful and responsive. She immediately contacted a selling broker who represented a prospective seller. Because we are new to a bigger boat and boating on the ICW, Cynthia assisted us through the entire process. She is a captain which was an added bonus to the process; she knew all the right questions to ask the selling broker as well as the surveyor. She drove 3 hours to be present during the survey, she developed a good relationship with the selling broker, she called and checked in with us regularly, was very enthusiastic about our purchase, and answered all our questions. We could not have done it without her. The Multlihull Company support team, Andrew Holland and Courtney Greider, were so helpful in the closing process: the paperwork was easy to complete and communication was smooth and timely. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Multihull Company and Cynthia to anyone who is the market for a boat large or small. Thank you!!!!

Excellent communication.
We had a great purchasing experience with The Multihull Company. Got us into the boat we really wanted, our broker Josie was amazing, she walked us through the entire process, negotiated the deal we wanted and gave us great advice throughout. If you are looking to purchase a boat we can’t recommend them enough.
It’s been a few weeks now and the dust has settled. We had a great experience with the Multihull Company and in particular our broker, Caroline Laviolette. Caroline was happy to share her knowledge of the market and the catamarans we were interested in purchasing. She was patient and thorough as we looked at several boats in SE Florida, helped us narrow our search and eventually purchase a beautiful 2017 Lagoon 42. Many thanks to the team at The Multihull Company!
We had a great experience purchasing our boat with Will Miller as a buyers agent. Purchasing our first large Cat is a daunting experience and Will was able to walk us through the process with ease. Will was very straight forward and constantly gave us honest feedback as well as finding and pointing out details on all the boats that we may not have noticed or thought about.
We had a great experience and would use them again.
I would specifically recommend a buyers agent when purchasing to help weed through a lot of problems and misrepresented boats on the market.
We have had great experiences with the Multihull company. We both sold our old boat through them, and bought our new boat through them. I have to say that Will Miller is top-notch, and Riley was great as our broker for selling our O day 39. when you buy a Salt or Boat through them, I feel like you are not only clients, but you are friends. The lines of communication were always open and we were always informed of everything going on.
Successful relationships cannot exist without it. At The Multihull Company we base every relationship on a firm commitment to earning and retaining our client’s trust.
Advice of any kind is valuable only when grounded in hard-won expertise. It too, must be trustworthy. Trust and expertise define the heart and soul of The Multihull Company. We are a team of skilled professionals who thrive on providing expert, trustworthy advice and service to catamaran and trimaran sailors around the globe.
