About
INTRODUCTION:
Entering the market is Kansakota Winds, a 2003 Lagoon 410 S-2 Sailing Catamaran. The Lagoon 410 S-2 is a well‑regarded cruising catamaran designed by VPLP (Van Peteghem & Lauriot‑Prévost) and built by Lagoon in France starting in 1997, with the S-2 upgrade debuting around the early 2000s. It succeeded the Lagoon 42 model and reflects Lagoon’s shift towards comfort without sacrificing seaworthiness. Between 1997 and 2006, about 283 hulls were built, making it one of the most successful models in Lagoon’s lineup. The “S-2” version introduced key updates: enlarged cabin windows, redesigned galley, rerouted halyards to the cockpit, electric winches, and relocation of the anchor to the bow. The 410’s design—spacious deck, helm‑level saloon, and improved stability—laid groundwork for later models and proved popular in both private ownership and charter markets.
The “owner’s version” of the Lagoon 410 S2 elevates comfort and livability for cruising couples and families. Unlike the charter layout with four cabins, this version features a private starboard hull suite, complete with queen‑size berth, en‑suite bathroom, and even a study or office space, fully separated from guest areas. Offered typically as a 3‑cabin layout, it includes features like a raised galley in the salon, improved woodwork, and cockpit access from the starboard hull for convenience. The owner’s version remains a popular choice for long‑term cruisers seeking a balance of performance, comfort, and privacy, with many examples well‑maintained and refitted well into the 2010s.
